Tyrone detour ends today

The detour of Route 453 (Pennsylvania Avenue) over Sink Run in Tyrone Borough, Blair County, ended today, Wednesday, Sept. 3, according to PennDOT.

In place since June, the 9-mile detour allowed Cottle's Asphalt Maintenance Inc., Everett, to complete the $1.2 million box culvert-bridge replacement over Sink Run.

Work will continue around the bridge through September.

Drop-offs still accepted for yard sale

The Blair Regional YMCA is still accepting donations for its annual yard sale, which will take place from Sept. 18-20.

Drop-off dates are as follows: 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 3; 8 to 11 a.m. Sept. 5; 7 to 11 a.m. Sept. 9; 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 11; 8 to 10 a.m. Sept. 13; 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 15; and 8 to 11 a.m. Sept. 16.

Items not being accepted are clothing, tube TVs, incomplete or non-working electronics, shoes, magazines, paperback books and stuffed animals.

Hours for the yard sale are as follows: Early bird entry will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, with a $10 entry fee. Free entry will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, and 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20.
