The Claysburg-Kimmel School Board unanimously approved purchasing new practice mats, wall padding and column padding for the high school wrestling room Monday night.
They received a Resilite quote for $33,883.51, which will cover "everything" from the mats to the installation, Superintendent Brian Helsel said.
Helsel said the mats are "definitely a need at this point" due to their age, since the wall mats date from the early 1970s, while the floor mats were purchased in the 1990s.
The cost of the mats was a part of the district's annual budget, he said.
Replacing the practice mats is "of the utmost importance," Helsel said.
