Van Zandt VA Medical Center set to host VetFest
Classic car show, food trucks, enrollment fair planned for event
The Van Zandt VA Medical Center will host Summer VetFest for veterans and their families from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the center, 2907 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona.
Summer VetFest, taking place in the large parking lot at the back of the main medical center, has partnered with the Blair County Antique Car Club to host a classic car show during the event.
Food truck vendors and live entertainment will also be included in VetFest. Local band, The American Mood, will play from 2 to 4 p.m.
Also during the event, the VA will be hosting an enrollment fair, where team members, including enrollment specialists and Veteran Service Officers, will assist veterans with enrolling in VA health care and filing service-connected disability claims. Representatives from the medical center will be on hand to showcase services offered to Veterans.
Veterans who would like to enroll in VA Healthcare should bring a copy of their DD214, last year’s financial information and insurance information.
Those attending the event should park in the upper lots and in the parking garage located off Fairway Drive. Shuttles will be available for those unable to walk long distances.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
