Cambria County hosts firemen’s convention
The Cambria County Regional Firefighters Association will hold its 104th Annual Convention from Saturday, July 26, through Saturday, Aug. 2, in Nanty Glo, hosted by the Nanty Glo Volunteer Fire Department.
The weeklong convention is a signature event for CCRFA, blending the spirit of community with the dedication of first responders. Part community festival, part firefighter Olympics and wholly a celebration of fire service, the convention honors the men and women who protect and serve our communities every day.
With more than 70 member departments (both career and volunteer) across eight counties — Armstrong, Blair, Cambria, Clearfield, Huntingdon, Indiana, Somerset and Westmoreland — the Association represents over 1,000 delegates committed to fire prevention, emergency response and public safety training. The convention offers an opportunity for members, supporters, and the public to engage, connect, and celebrate these efforts.
“The CCRFA Convention is a celebration of the First Responder culture that thrives in our area,” said Lianna Weir, public relations officer for the association. “This is a great opportunity for fire departments from across the region to showcase their skills, network with other fire departments, and interact with the people we serve. The entire week of events is open to the public and we encourage them to attend.”
