Blair County Planning Commission reviews Freedom Township building plans
Blair County Planning Commission members Thursday reviewed plans for Terrascape Supply to construct a new building for use as a sales showroom along the Woodbury Pike (Routes 164/36) in Freedom Township.
The 2,500-square-foot building would be built on a site with several existing buildings related to the landscaping supply business. Plans also call for construction of a 700-square-foot pergola structure adjacent to one side of the new building. The proposal calls for nine new parking spaces.
Manager Moses Martin said the project is in its early stages.
“We are obviously just in the exploration/planning phase. We are hoping to build over the coming winter, but obviously a lot of things will need to come together for us,” Martin said.
Martin said he expects the project to be in excess of $500,000.
“Hopefully we will be able to continue to grow and employ more people here in Blair County. We are not currently looking to hire, but we would see this as part of growing our business here in the local area,” Martin said.
Member Patrick Baechle has some concerns about getting in and out of the business.
“I recommend they put in entrance and exit signs. This is a nightmare to get in and out,” Baechle said.
