Aliquippa man arrested for drugs

Metro

An Aliquippa man is behind bars in Bedford County after a traffic stop turned up a stash of marijuana.

Jameal Colise Harmon, 30, was arraigned Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Tonya M. Osman on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana – small amount personal use and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Unable to post $200,000 bail, he was remanded to the Blair County Prison. His preliminary hearing is set for May 28 in Bedford County Central Court.

According to court documents, Harmon was a passenger in a Hyundai Sonata on the Pennsylvania Turnpike when state police conducted a traffic stop due to dark window tint.

Police could detect a strong odor of green and burnt marijuana and Harmon said he had a medical marijuana card, but didn’t have it with him.

When Harmon showed police the marijuana, it was not labeled and did not appear to be the medical variety, police reported.

A consent search of the vehicle and the occupants’ belongings turned up six multicolored bags of marijuana and 155 multicolored boxes and DVD containers containing marijuana, the report states.

Harmon said the drugs were his and he was taken into custody, police reported.
