Toledo

A Philadelphia man was taken into custody after an investigation by local and state law enforcement agencies led to the seizure of more than $20,000 worth of narcotics.

Daquone Kyre Toledo, 29, was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Benjamin F. Jones on two felony counts possession with intent to deliver, single felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility and dealing in unlawful proceeds, as well as two misdemeanor counts each of possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was remanded to the Blair County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, a confidential informant arranged a controlled buy of fentanyl and methamphetamine for $750 from an individual, later identified as Toledo, on Monday. Officers with the Altoona Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, state Attorney General’s Office and Blair County Drug Task Force performed surveillance on Toledo as he left an apartment along the 300 block of Seventh Street in Altoona and arrived at the predetermined location along the 700 block of Fifth Avenue Alley, where the controlled buy was made.

Toledo was then stopped by uniformed officers along the 700 block of Sixth Avenue and taken into custody. In a search of Toledo, officers found 45 stamp bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl, 22 grams of suspected meth, the $750 of buy money and $2,716 in cash, the Altoona Police Department stated in a post to their Facebook page.

With this information, officers obtained and executed a search warrant on both the apartment Toledo was seen leaving along the 300 block of Seventh Street and his vehicle.
