Penn Highlands seeks volunteers

Penn Highlands Healthcare is seeking volunteers to serve at the organization’s hospitals in Huntingdon, State College and Tyrone.

Volunteers greet patients, visitors and family members near the entrances and offer help with directions and other information, according to a news release.

UPMC Altoona to hold health fair

UPMC Altoona is holding a Healthy Living Fair from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 3, at the Blair County Convention Center.

It will feature health screenings, preventive health and wellness tips, opportunities to question health care experts and a “Minutes Matter” workshop to help attendees recognize medical emergencies quickly and to respond appropriately.

Attendees can learn how to administer naloxone, identify mental crises, perform hands-only CPR and use an automated external defibrillator.
