Fuel scheduled to be shut off at Bedford turnpike service plaza
Fuel will be unavailable at a Bedford County Turnpike service plaza starting Monday.
Gas and diesel will be shut off at the South Midway Service Plaza, milepost 147.3 eastbound, for approximately 10 weeks while the underground fuel tanks, lines and dispensers are replaced.
Restrooms and dining services will all remain open during maintenance. Eastbound drivers in need of fuel can stop at the South Somerset Service Plaza, 35 miles before South Midway, or at Sideling Hill, 35 miles after South Midway.
Blair constables to be showcased in Discovery Channel documentary
Longtime Blair Constables Ray Benton, Kim Benton and Brittany Diehl will be featured on the premier episode of "Constables on Patrol" being aired on the Discovery Channel at 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 11.
The producers of the Discovery Channel went live in the field with the constables last summer while serving arrest warrants and performing prisoner transports in Blair County.
Ray Benton, president of Blair Constable Services Inc., said the purpose of this documentary is to provide education as to the job duties and the risks involved in providing service for the court system.
