Munhall man suspected in overdose deaths
A Munhall man is behind bars for his alleged connection to three suspected drug-related deaths in Tyrone and Snyder Township on Wednesday.
Calil Francois-Moon, 20, was arraigned Thursday morning by Magisterial District Judge Benjamin F. Jones on six felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, six misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and one summary count of disorderly conduct.
According to court documents, his bail was denied due to “evidence of substantial narcotics distribution and being the subject of numerous overdose death investigations.” He is being housed in the Blair County Prison.
Officers apprehended Francois-Moon at the Burger King on Pennsylvania Avenue in Tyrone after surveillance evidence showed he had been at both overdose locations. A search of Francois-Moon’s bookbags revealed 1,765 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 56 grams of heroin/fentanyl, 28 grams of black tar heroin, 56 grams of cocaine, and 3.8 ounces of psychedelic mushrooms, worth a combined total of $204,000, according to the Tyrone Police Department’s Facebook page.
The death investigations are still on-going, and autopsies are scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
