A Bedford man is behind bars after an investigation into child pornography allegedly showed the images came from his Facebook account.
Kennedy Edwin Clark, 39, was arraigned Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Kevin R. Diehl in Bedford on felony charges of child pornography, disseminating photo/film of child sex acts and criminal use of a communication facility.
Unable to post $100,000 bail, he was remanded to the Bedford County Correctional Facility. His preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 19 in Bedford County Central Court.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a report from Facebook that a user with the screen name kennedy.clark568 had uploaded a file containing apparent child pornography on May 21, 2024.
The MP4 video was three short videos joined together, police reported, and all three videos depicted the sexual abuse of children, with the third segment showing a young girl, about 5 or 6 years old, with an adult male.
Messages were sent before and after the video upload, with the first message asking if something was being sent, and the response being “It’s sending.”
The CyberTipline traced the Facebook account to Clark, court documents state.
Through the state police investigation, Clark’s address was located and on Feb. 12, a search warrant was served on his East John Street residence in Bedford Borough.
Police seized Clark’s cellphone and, during a preview search, located numerous files depicting sexual abuse of children, the report states. A thorough search will be conducted at the Computer Crime Office at Troop G Hollidaysburg and additional criminal counts will be amended to the complaint, the affidavit states.
