Blair Halloween events planned
Trick-or-treat night in Blair County will be held on Halloween this year. The hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Other Halloween events planned include:
– Lakemont Lions Club will host a community Trunk-or-Treat event at the Greenwood Lions Park from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29.
Children in costume and their families are invited to the park for Halloween treats. Lakemont Lions Club members will decorate cars or trunks and offer candy and other treats. Other Club members will have free hot dogs and water available for children and adults in the park’s pavilion. This is a “rain or shine” event, with treats available while supplies last. Greenwood Lions Park is near the corner of Walton Avenue and Greenwood Road.
All children attending must be accompanied by an adult.
For witches and others in need of a new broom, the Club will be selling Lions brooms, which come in two sizes. The Deluxe Corn Household Broom is $15, with a medium-size broom at $12. The child-size version is $8. Both varieties are made in the USA, and sales support the Lakemont Club’s local services.
– Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold a Trunk-or-Treat event from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 in the church parking lot, 1200 Fourth Ave., Duncansville. The Duncansville police and fire departments will also be participating. This is a free event.
– Calvary United Methodist Church, 167 Blue Ball Road, West Decatur, will hold Treats from the Trunk from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. Setup will be in the Boggs Township lot across from the church. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the church basement.
