Former local attorney disbarred

Zang currently resides in Florida

A former Hollidaysburg attorney has been disbarred on consent, based on a notice issued Friday by the state Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

Edward E. Zang, 60, who last had an office at 1211 Allegheny St., is being disbarred as of Aug. 25, based on Friday’s notice which provided no information as to the reason.

While Zang used to regularly practice law in Blair County, the Disciplinary Board of the State Supreme Court indicated that he is currently residing in Indialantic, Fla.

Upon the effective date of disbarment, Zang will be prohibited from practicing law in Pennsylvania for at least five years. Thereafter, he would need to petition for reinstatement to the bar and prove fitness to resume the practice of law, based on information posted on the disciplinary board’s website.

Zang was among several disciplined attorneys named in Friday’s notice, with others subject to temporary suspension of their law license, public censure, probation and public reprimand.

Based on Friday’s notice, Zang indicated to the court that he is aware of his obligation to notify clients.

The Mirror’s attempts to reach Zang for comment drew no response.
