CLEARFIELD -- An Irvona man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl will face trial after the charges were bound over for county court Wednesday.
Police say between May 2023 and April 28, 2024, Cory James Kubiak, 55, pressured the girl to perform sex acts and have intercourse with him.
He is charged with four felony counts each of rape forcible compulsion and rape mentally disabled person, as well as felony statutory sexual assault, and two counts of aggravated indecent assault forcible compulsion. In addition, he is facing four misdemeanor counts of indecent assault forcible compulsion.
During centralized court in Clearfield County, Kubiak waived his right to a preliminary hearing, sending the case onto the county court. He is being held in the county jail on $100,000 bail.
The criminal complaint details how Kubiak told the girl she could use a tablet if she stroked his genitalia on three different occasions. During one of these instances, he also touched her inappropriately.
He also reportedly engaged in sexual intercourse with the girl.
One of the assaults occurred while she was taking a shower and another while she was doing laundry in her basement, she told police.
In his interview with investigators, Kubiak reportedly admitted to having sex with the girl four or five times during the past two months. He also admitted to having her stroke his genitalia and to touching her private area, according to the affidavit.
