Large animal veterinary clinic now open for business
Cambria Veterinary Care is now open for business at 926 Cooper Ave. in Johnstown.
The newly established large animal veterinary clinic is operating as a haul-in facility and provides care for a variety of species located in a rural veterinary shortage area, including equine, beef and dairy herds, small ruminants, swine, camelids, cervidae and poultry.
The haul-in facility aims to create an overall safe, clean and efficient environment for all patients equipped with comprehensive services consisting of preventative medicine, sick and emergency intervention, reproductive care, diagnostic testing and imaging and surgical procedures.
Dr. Aubrey Vena is leading Cambria Veterinary Care's expansion into large animal medicine.
Chamber sets informational meeting on Costa Rica trip
The Blair County Chamber of Commerce is going back to Costa Rica. The Chamber had a successful trip there 11 years ago in partnership with Epic Journeys and Collette Vacations. The return trip will be from Feb. 20-28, 2025. Among the highlights are: San Jose, Arenal Volcano, Cano Negro Refuge, Lake Arenal Cruise and Monteverde Cloud Forest.

Sheetz receives recognition for workplace culture
Sheetz has been named one of this year's 100 Best Companies to Work For by Fortune and Great Place to Work.
This list, now in its 27th year, recognizes companies that have exceptional workplace cultures. Sheetz, which is ranked 60th on this year's list, has been included on this list nine straight years and 10 times in the last 11 years.
The recognition follows a recent announcement that Sheetz was aiming to hire 2,200 employees company-wide.
The inclusion occurs as Sheetz continues its expansion west. Sheetz currently operates more than 30 locations in Columbus, Ohio, following the company's first store opening in the city in 2021. The company also operates four Dayton, Ohio, stores following the chain's first store opening in this market last August. Last month, Sheetz officially broke ground on the construction of its first-ever store in Detroit, which will open later this year. Sheetz will also be opening stores in Toledo, Ohio, later this year.
