A city man is behind bars after giving police false identification. Kwaysean Vaughn, 37, who is wanted by New York police on sex trafficking charges, was found fully clothed in a shower at an apartment on the 1100 block of 13th Avenue.
According to court documents, Altoona police were called to the apartment about 2:14 a.m. Saturday for a possible physical domestic. On scene, police were told a man was in the shower and wouldn't come out.
Police entered the bathroom and pulled the shower curtain open. At that point, Vaughn -- fully clothed -- stepped out.
When asked for identification, he told police his name was Sean Livingston, but officers were unable to verify his identity. He was taken into custody and a mobile fingerprinting system was used to identify him as Vaughn, police reported.
Blair County 911 advised police that Vaughn had a full extradition warrant out of the New York Police Department.
He was arraigned Saturday before Magisterial District Judge Matthew Dunio on a misdemeanor count of false identification to police and remanded to the Blair County Prison on $100,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday before Benjamin F. Jones. He also faces an extradition hearing.
