Blair Commissioners meeting set for today

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Blair County commissioners are slated to discuss and accept public comment today on the county's use of opioid settlement dollars.

Commissioners, who are meeting at 1 p.m. in the courthouse basement, have included the use of opioid settlement money at the end of their agenda, with time allotted for in-person comment, written public comment and discussion.

Pennsylvania counties are among the entities to benefit from a legal settlement with the nation's major drug distributors.

For 18 years, Blair and other counties are slated to receive annual allocations that they can use to address opioid addictions, including training, treatment, prevention, research and other measures.

Those who cannot attend today's meeting can submit comments to the county commissioners at publiccomment@blairco.org.
