Theft of money, jewelry probed
State police are investigating a burglary in Bedford County in which jewelry and money were taken, along with $1 million in Zimbabwe trillion dollar bills.
According to a police report, someone broke into a Bedford couple's residence on Bedford Valley Road in Cumberland Valley Township on Feb. 6.
The victims reported that 20 Zimbabwe 100 trillion dollar bills were taken. The bills were worth $1 million, according to the police report. Other items reported missing were engagement rings valued at $1,500; a gold turtle necklace, $25; blue diamond ring, $250; ruby ring, $150; ruby necklace, $150; jade necklace, $50; diamond heart necklace, $500; silver dollars, $20; and $30 in loose change.
Police are asking anyone with information about the burglary to contact the Bedford station at 814-623-6133.
Motorcycle, equipment stolen
Two vehicles and more than $3,000 worth of equipment was reported stolen from a Hopewell Township, Bedford County residence, according to state police.
An Everett man reported that a 2003 Harley-Davidson and a 1981 Kawasaki were taken from his Brallier Station Road residence during a break in Feb. 2. In addition, state police reported that reloading equipment valued at $3,000; a brown safe, $300; a large JLG life platform, $60; and single-man JLG life platforms, $75, were also stolen.
