HOLLIDAYSBURG -- No students or bus drivers were injured when a Frankstown Elementary school bus was struck by another vehicle while stopped on Frankstown Road Thursday afternoon.
EMS was dispatched to the scene, according to Fullington Auto Bus CEO Jonathan Berzas, who said two other vehicles were involved in the collision. The status of those drivers, and the condition of those vehicles, is currently unknown.
"I believe it was just bumper damage -- front or back I'm not sure," Berzas said, "but our mechanics are going to take a look at it and we're still investigating."
Some of the students on the bus were picked up by their parents on scene, while the rest were transported back to Frankstown Elementary to be picked up by their parents. The last of the stranded students were retrieved about 5:15 p.m.
While the bus involved in Thursday's accident will be out of active duty until the crash investigation is complete, students on the affected route will be shuttled by a spare bus.
"Thank God the students and the driver weren't hurt," Berzas said.
