New hires and promotions
Janie Leck-Grela, director of grants at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, has been appointed as the director of the Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center.
Her prior leadership positions include director of grants and development for the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland County and a grants project director for Arizona. In her new role, she will provide leadership and support for the PPAC and the expansion of opportunities for arts education in the region.
Larry Burger has been appointed by Kish bank to the position of vice president, business development officer, and Harry Felty to the position of vice president, commercial relationship manager. Both will be based primarily out of Kish Bank's Huntingdon Financial Center.
Burger brings over 45 years of business development and lending experience as he returns to Kish Bank after a brief retirement. In his new role, he will be responsible for procuring, retaining, and expanding opportunities with emerging businesses.
Felty joins Kish Bank with 30 years' experience in banking, beginning his career with Commercial Credit Corp. as an associate branch manager in 1992. Most recently, he spent 25 years with Reliance Bank. In his new role at Kish, Felty will work with commercial and industrial clients in the Huntingdon and Blair counties and collaborate with Kish's commercial lending staff in Centre County.
Awards and honors
Julie Rummel, the general manager of McDonald's of Roaring Spring, and Missy Farber, the general manager of McDonald's of Station Mall, recently were named outstanding general managers, an award bestowed on the top 10% of general managers across the McDonald's restaurant system.
The award is presented to restaurant general managers who achieve business results, champion people practices and consistently demonstrate leadership behaviors. In addition to an award plaque, each received a $5,000 cash gift from the local McDonald's co-operative, owned and operated by Joe Nyanko.
Retirements
Marilyn Templon, who has served as the Blair County Chamber's receptionist-secretary for the past 15 years, will officially retire at the end of December.
Besides her role in coordinating programs and events for the organization, she also oversaw the chamber's travel program, which has grown tremendously.
