Unclaimed property returning to Bedford firms
State treasurer announces $21K will be returned
HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity announced Monday that more than $21,000 in unclaimed property is being returned to several businesses in Bedford County. Members of the Leadership Bedford County Class of 2024 recently toured the treasury’s vault where Garrity surprised them with their unclaimed property. State Rep. Jesse Topper, R-78th District, helped organize the tour.
“It was wonderful hosting such a distinguished group of business leaders from Bedford County,” Garrity said. “It was even better telling them they had more than $21,000 worth of unclaimed property ready to be claimed. Many people think unclaimed property only belongs to individuals, but it also belongs to businesses, nonprofits and other entities.”
“What an incredible honor it was to visit the Treasury’s vault with our Leadership Bedford County Class,” Bedford County Chamber President-CEO Kellie Goodman Shaffer said.
A total of $21,623 will be returned to 9 organizations, including:
— Omni Bedford Springs Resort – $6,985.
— Country View Family Farms – $4,561.
— Thomas Chevrolet Subaru – $3,363.
— RWR Group Inc. – $2,687.
— UPMC Bedford – $2,327.
— New Enterprise Stone & LimeCo. inc. – $818.
— Hometown Bank – $697.
— Bedford Grange Mutual – $117.
— Bedford County Chamber – $69.
