A Bedford man is behind bars after fleeing police.
Draven Lee Henderson, 19, was interviewed by state police Friday morning about an ongoing investigation, police reported. Before arriving at his Sunnyside Road apartment, police queried Henderson's record and found that he had a valid warrant for failure to appear.
After the interview outside his apartment, police told him he was going to be detained on the outstanding warrant, at which point Henderson became tense and a struggle ensued.
While police attempted to place Henderson in handcuffs, he said he was "going to fight" with the troopers, court documents state.
Henderson then head butted a trooper and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Henderson was hit with a Taser and taken into custody.
He was arraigned Friday afternoon before Magisterial District Judge Kevin R. Diehl in Bedford County on a felony charge of aggravated assault, misdemeanor charges of simple assault, resisting arrest and recklessly endangering another person and summary charges of harassment and evading arrest.
Unable to post $150,000 bail, he was remanded to the Bedford County Correctional Facility. His preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 20 in Bedford County Central Court.
