Shop owner faces alcohol charges

From Mirror staff reports

The owner of Bodies in Motion, 631 Main St., Portage, faces charges after a raid Thursday.

According to Portage Borough police, after a monthslong investigation, state police Liquor Control Enforcement agents and Portage Borough police served a search warrant on the business owned by Gary Eugene Vaughn Jr. Alcohol, cash and other evidence were seized, police reported.

In addition, Portage Borough police will be filing a charge related to serving underage.

Charges have yet to be filed by Liquor Control Enforcement or Portage police, according to online court documents.

Bodies in Motion, opened this summer, is billed as a traveling female exotic dance company, according to the website.

The Cambria County District Attorney’s Office, Cresson Borough police and the Cambria County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the incident.

In 2012, Vaughn entered guilty pleas to conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. He was indicted on criminal charges after enlisting what the government called “runners” to steal merchandise from area stores. These so-called runners would sell the items to Vaughn, who operated Gary’s Steals and Deals in Portage and Somerset County. The government said Vaughn would resell the stolen merchandise either from his stores or on eBay.

He also served time for a similar scheme in the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Starting at $2.99/week.
