Tyrone man faces charges in 3 cases
A Tyrone man faces charges in three drug-related cases, two dating back to 2022.
Aaron Michael Gurekovich, 28, faces a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in an incident from Aug. 31; misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident on May 3, 2022; and felony charges of possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility and possession of a controlled substance from an incident on Feb. 17, 2022.
Gurekovich was arraigned on all three cases Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Fred B. Miller. Bail was set at $25,000; $3,500; and $25,000 respectively, and he was remanded to the Blair County Prison. His preliminary hearings are set for Nov. 21 before Miller.
According to the affidavits of probable cause, Gurekovich sold a confidential informant heroin and crystal methamphetamine from his home on the 400 block of Baughman Hollow Road, Tyrone, on Feb. 17, 2022. Gurekovich was found to be in possession of marijuana while at the Bellwood Borough Police Department on May 3, 2022, the report states. On Aug. 31, Gurekovich was found passed out in a vehicle in the 400 block of Sylvan Acres, police reported. Police observed a glass pipe with residue, a clear container of suspected bundles of heroin, a used syringe and a metal pipe. The vehicle was towed and a search warrant obtained. During the search, police found a bag of methamphetamine, eight empty heroin packets, 29 empty small clear bags, a digital scale and four syringes.
City man arraigned on drug counts
A city man is behind bars after allegedly selling heroin to a confidential informant.
Jerome Jarod Brinson, 31, was arraigned Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Benjamin F. Jones on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility along with a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.
According to court documents, Brinson sold 3 grams of heroin/fentanyl to the informant on Oct. 16. The CI gave Brinson $1,000 in pre-recorded drug task force funds and received one wax packet and $10 in change, the report states.
According to online court documents, Brinson has six drug-related cases filed against him this year. He is scheduled for preliminary hearings on Dec. 6 before Jones. He has a combined bail of $400,000 and was remanded to the Blair County Prison.
Police: Pittsburgh man sold narcotics
A Pittsburgh man faces charges in two cases after allegedly selling narcotics to a confidential informant twice.
Corey Michael Brown was arraigned Tuesday night before Magisterial District Judge Paula M. Aigner on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance for an incident on Oct. 10 and the same charges for an incident on Oct. 23.
Unable to post $70,000 combined bail, Brown was remanded to the Blair County Prison. His preliminary hearings are set for Nov. 8 before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. DeAntonio.
According to court documents, a confidential informant purchased crystal methamphetamine from Brown, known as "C," on Oct. 10 at a location on the 900 block of Sixth Avenue. A second transaction, this one for fentanyl, was made on Oct. 23 at a location on the 800 block of Fifth Avenue, according to the report.
