HOLLIDAYSBURG -- An Altoona man who claimed to be a CIA agent after being confronted inside the Nehemiah Project has rendered guilty pleas for a county prison sentence, followed by five years' probation.
Brent Sheldon Musselman, 45, pleaded guilty Wednesday in Blair County Court to burglary, criminal trespassing, terrorist threats, impersonating a public servant, activating a false alarm and related offenses. He was sentenced to 11.5 to 23 months in the county prison, with credit for time served since his June 27 arrest. His bail in the case was set at $100,000 cash.
Senior Judge Jolene Grubb Kopriva, upon hearing Musselman's guilty pleas, imposed the recommended sentence.
Altoona police arrested Musselman inside the Nehemiah Project, also known as the former Wright Elementary School, 1809 11th St., after being summoned to the building by a board member who reported making contact with a man he didn't know. The board member said the man claimed to be with police who were investigating an intruder.
While waiting for Altoona police, the board member reported seeing Musselman pull a fire alarm inside the building's front entrance, prompting an evacuation during a youth basketball game.
Police said that when officers arrived and confronted Musselman, he put up his hands and claimed to be "CIA." When trying to take him into custody, police said he resisted and tried to run, prompting a fight with officers attempting to handcuff him.
