Meadows Sheetz reopens
The Sheetz store at the Meadows intersection, 1371 Plank Road, has reopened. It had closed in August for renovations.
The remodeled store includes a restaurant-style experience with self-service kiosks and additional seating inside, plus 12 fuel terminals.
Eat'n Park honors veterans
Eat'n Park Restaurants is showing its appreciation for all active and former U.S. military personnel and their families by offering a 10% discount on their entire check during the month of November.
The discount applies to all meals on the active or former military member's check.
Additionally, on Veterans Day, all active and former military personnel will receive a free Smiley Cookie with their meal in addition to the 10% discount.
On Tuesday, Nov. 7, guests who present a voting stub, email confirmation or sticker showing that they voted will receive a free cup of coffee.
New Dollar General open
Dollar General's store at 5709 Sixth Ave. in Altoona is now open.
The new Altoona location includes the company's new home decor and an expanded party preparation selection.
Schools, nonprofit organizations and libraries within a 15-mile radius of the store can apply for Dollar General Literacy Foundation grants.
The store is expected to employ six to 10 people.
