A Cambria County man is behind bars after allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl at a campground in May.
Matthew John Hoch, 34, is facing one felony count each of rape forcible compulsion, sexual assault, statuatory sexual assault – 11 years older, corruption of minors -- defendant age 18 or above and three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault -- complainant less than 16.
Hoch had his preliminary arraignment Oct. 24 in front of Magisterial District Judge Michael Zungali. Unable to post $100,000 bail, he was remanded to the Cambria County Prison, court documents show.
Hoch's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 31 in front of Magisterial District Judge Michael Zungali.
The charges stem from an incident in which Hoch allegedly sexually assaulted the victim multiple times at a campground in White Township, according to a report by WJAC.
The victim allegedly told authorities that the assaults occurred while she was trying to sleep and after Hoch had been drinking at a campfire.
Authorities were notified of the assaults in June after the victim told a coworker what had happened, according to WJAC.
