A local restaurant which opened just more than a year ago is ready to expand.

33 on MAC has purchased the Pal-Mino’s Pizza property at 2206 Seventh Ave. and plans to open in the new location in January, said owner Nicole Burchfield.

33 on MAC will continue to operate at 715 Sixth Ave. until the move.

Pal-Mino’s owner Rocky DePiro said he decided to sell his business in order to retire.

“This is Pal-Mino’s 65th year and my 45th year. It is time to retire,” DePiro said. “I want to thank the community for their support over the years.”

Burchfield is excited about the move for her business, which specializes in varieties of macaroni and cheese and cheesecake.

“It will allow us to expand our current menu to offer pizza, wings, and hoagies with our signature classic bold twist in addition to our MAC n’ Cheese Bar and Cheesecake Bar. When you buy a pizza shop, you must have pizza. We will have a classic pizza, but we will also be adding many signature pizzas in the same way we create our MAC n’ Cheese Bowls,” she said.

Burchfield said the location offers easy in and out parking. More space will also allow the restaurant to provide more catering for parties over 200 people.

33 on MAC will also be opening a full service bar and grill section called Bottle Bar 33.

The addition of the bar and grill should help business, and the expansion will lead to the creation of 10-15 new jobs, Burchfield said.

Blair County Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Joe Hurd is pleased to see the growth of the business.

“An area poised for growth needs to be creative and innovative at the same time,” Hurd said. “33 on MAC has recognized that and gained popularity from the time it first opened its doors. Its new location will provide the people in that area with a tasty destination.”

Burchfield said initially, business hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., but once the remodeling is completed and Bottle Bar 33 opens, both will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
