U.S. Rep. John Joyce has announced his bid for re-election.
The Republican and Altoona native has represented the 13th District since January 2019.
He is a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the vice chair of the House GOP Doctors Caucus.
"In 2024, the future of our families and our communities will be at stake," Joyce said in a statement. "If we want to get our country back on track and end the costly failures of the far-left Biden agenda, then we must fight to defend our conservative values in Congress. That is why I'm running for re-election to represent Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives."
Joyce said, "Weak border security, rising crime, skyrocketing inflation and higher costs from the grocery store to the gas pump are the direct result of Joe Biden's failed leadership. To address these challenges, we must return principled Republican leadership to Congress and the White House.
If re-elected, he plans to continue to focus on the issues that matter most to his district -- "improving access to quality, affordable health care, bringing reliable high-speed internet to all communities and lowering energy prices for Pennsylvania families."
In 2022, Joyce was elected to serve the people of the 13th Congressional District with 260,345 votes. In 2023, he was named as a Friend of the Farm Bureau; recognized as a Defender of Limited Government by the Institute for Legislative Analysis; and given the Award for Conservative Achievement from the CPAC Center for Legislative Accountability. A member of the National Rifle Association, Joyce has a 100% score from the National Right to Life Committee.
"This district is my home," Joyce said. "I was born here, and I raised my family here -- and I will work to faithfully represent each and every constituent I am elected and honored to serve."
