Saber Healthcare acquires Midtown Oaks in Altoona
Saber Healthcare Group has recently acquired Midtown Oaks Health & Rehab Center and The Villages of Midtown Oaks in Altoona, originally called Altoona Center for Nursing Care and Amber Terrace.
Midtown Oaks Health & Rehab Center and The Villages of Midtown Oaks will soon be integrated into the Saber family.
Saber Healthcare Group was established in 2001. The Cleveland-based company has grown from two skilled nursing facilities to more than 115 skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in seven states (Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia and North Carolina)

Giant donating supplies for students returning to school
In honor of its 100th anniversary celebrations and the start of a new school year, The Giant Co. is donating 10,000 bags filled with food, hygiene products and school supplies to help kids start the school year with confidence.
Over the next two weeks, Giant and Martin’s team members will partner with 36 local organizations to pack and distribute bags, providing kids with weekend meals and supplies.
Each bag includes non-perishable food items such as cereal, trail mix, mac and cheese, granola bars and applesauce, school supplies including notebook, pencils, crayons, glue sticks and personal hygiene items like toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, laundry detergent and deodorant.
