Customers of Peoples Natural Gas are paying less for their gas.
Effective today, the quarterly adjusted cost recovery rate has decreased from $3.40 per thousand cubic feet to $2.15 per mcf.
With the decrease, the average residential customer who uses 87,000 cubic feet per year, or 7.3 mcf per month, will see a monthly bill decrease from $73 to $65.
"The reason for the decrease is due to market prices being down. The commodity gas cost is a straight dollar-for-dollar pass through from Peoples to the customers," said Carol Scanlon, Peoples manager of rates.
Peoples serves about 31,200 customers in Blair County.
