A Darby man has been charged in the fatal overdose death of a Cresson Borough man.
Rasheen Edwards, 29, allegedly sold drugs to 37-year-old Derek Lushko, who died of an overdose in February, court documents state.
An autopsy revealed Lushko suffered a medical emergency as a result of ingesting multiple drugs, including fentanyl. During the investigation, police said a witness and text messages indicated Lushko bought drugs from Edwards the night before his death.
In addition, Edwards was arrested in March on separate drug and firearms charges. The drugs found on Edwards at that time were similar to ones recovered from the scene of Lushko's death, the report states.
Edwards was arraigned Thursday afternoon before Cambria County Magisterial District Judge John Prebish Jr. on felony charges of drug delivery resulting in death, possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility.
Unable to post 10% of 250,000 bail, he was remanded to the Cambria County Prison. His preliminary hearing is set for July 26 before Prebish.
