WILLIAMSBURG -- An early morning fire destroyed an equipment shed on the Baker farm at 5046 Clover Creek Road, Huston Township.
Travis Prough, fire chief of Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department, said his crew was dispatched to the scene about 4:15 a.m.
Upon arrival, he said that the shed was fully involved in flames and there was heavy smoke.
"At that time, the roof was already starting to cave in," Prough said.
He said it took them and about eight other company crews four hours to completely put out the fire.
Prough said they had plenty of water and the crews had no challenges.
"We just put water on the fire and snuffed it out," he said.
The shed was a total loss, and Prough estimated the damage could be at least $1 million because of the equipment.
He said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The fire companies that assisted Williamsburg include: Martinsburg, Geeseytown, Roaring Spring, East Freedom and Bellwood from Blair County and Alexandria from Huntingdon County.
