New businesses moving into Antis Twp.

Tractor Supply, Dollar General projects get nod

By Walt Frank 2 min read

Two new businesses soon will be coming to Antis Township.

Dollar General and Tractor Supply will be building new stores at 4580 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd. next to Tyrone Ford.

Blair County Planning Commission members Thursday gave a positive review to plans for the consolidation and redevelopment of a 13.96-acre lot, owned by MSP Properties of Pennsylvania, for the purpose of constructing a 10,640-square-foot Dollar General store and a 21,930-square-foot Tractor Supply store with accompanying 20,000 square feet of concrete outdoor display area, said MacKenzie Caron, community planner.

Additional developments to the site include parking facilities and stormwater management improvements.

Access to the site will be through a paved 28-foot bidirectional access drive with an additional 8-foot striped portion for extended truck maneuverability. The bidirectional access drive continues around the perimeter of the parking area, which appears to provide adequate access to the site.

The separate parking facilities -- 32 for Dollar General and 83 for Tractor Supply -- will have shared access.

Commission members recommended adding bicycle parking.

Construction on both stores is expected to begin soon.

"Based on our current timeline, we anticipate to break ground in the coming weeks," said a Dollar General spokesperson.

"Tractor Supply is planning to begin construction later this summer. If all moves on schedule, the store could open as early as Spring 2024, although timing is subject to change. At this time, we do not have any additional information on when construction will be completed or an exact grand opening date," said spokeswoman Tricia Glenn.
