Meeting set for chamber trip
The Blair County Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with Ketrow Kurtz Travel, will host a trip to Scotland and Ireland, Aug. 7-16, 2024. The itinerary includes stops at Edinburgh Castle, Glasgow, Dublin, Cliffs of Moher, a Loch Ness cruise and a medieval castle banquet. Ground transportation from Altoona to the airport is included in the trip.
An informational meeting will be held at 6 p.m. May 31 at the Devorris Center for Business Development, 3900 Industrial Park Drive. There is no obligation or cost to attend. To register, call the chamber at 814-943-8151 or register online at www.blairchamber.com.

Holland Bros. wins awards
Holland Bros. Meats of Duncansville captured several awards at the Pennsylvania Association of Meat Processors Convention in State College. The 2023 Product Competition contest had entries from across Pennsylvania and several neighboring states.
Holland Bros. won the Best of Pork Award for its grand champion whole bone-in ham, Best of Show -- voted best product from all classes out of grand champions and best product out of 326 entries -- for its specialty apple maple bacon.
Other awards included: Grand Champion for its whole bone-in ham and apple maple bacon; Reserve Grand Champion for its large diameter lunch meat (Dutch loaf), small diameter cooked/smoked sausage (kolbassi) and whole muscle poultry (whole smoked turkey); and Champion (third place) for innovative class (new product) Peach Bourbon Bacon Bombs (burnt ends).
Games of chance seminar set
A Small Games of Chance: Understanding the Law seminar will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 22, at the Young Peoples Community Center
Gymnasium, 300 Prave St., Ebensburg.
The event, hosted by Sen. Wayne Langerholc Jr., will provide information on the updated state small games of chance laws and how they will impact nonprofits or eligible organizations. Participants will also learn about the application process, permitted games, special occasion permits and more.
The speaker will be Christopher Burns from the Pennsylvania State Police's Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.

CWP sets trade show
Clearfield Wholesale Paper Co. will hold a trade show May 23 and 24.
The event, which will feature 30 vendors, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 23 at the Buccinese Club, 614 Eighth Ave., Altoona, and on May 24 at the CWP Warehouse, 923 S. Fourth St., Clearfield.
The event is free to the public.
