Cambria County attorney Timothy Sloan will seek election as Cambria County Common Pleas judge.
"After 35 plus years of practicing law here in Cambria County, I feel I can use my unique skill set and experience to go to work for the people of our area," said Sloan. "I have over three decades of courtroom experience and have owned my own law firm for the past 25 years. During this time, I've gained a broad background handling many different types of matters from adoption to homicide cases."
He operates Sloan Law Office P.C. in Ebensburg and serves as guardian ad litem for Cambria County, representing the interest of children in the court system.
"Having the ability to bring families together through the adoption process, protect a child's interest or help people to find peace during a difficult time, I've seen firsthand the good that the legal system can do," said Sloan.
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Sloan returned to Cambria County to begin practicing. He was employed by the Spence, Custer, Saylor, Wolfe & Rose law firm for almost eight years before deciding to start his own firm and practice on his own.
A lifelong resident of Cambria County, Sloan and his wife of 33 years have raised their three children in the county and are now grandparents. Sloan served as a high school tennis coach.
He is a member of the Ebensburg Rotary and serves as the solicitor for the Clerk of Courts Office and the Revloc and Cambria Township fire companies.
