Startup Alleghenies announces free newsletter
A free weekly e-newsletter dedicated to showing off what local communities and the Alleghenies region has to offer is available through Startup Alleghenies.
Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntingdon and Somerset counties are filled with small businesses -- breweries, cafes, restaurants, boutiques, gyms, outdoor adventure rentals and more -- that are impacting the local economy and improving quality of life.

CPI to hold open house
The Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology will hold an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at 540 Harrison Road in Pleasant Gap.
Parents, business/industry, future students and anyone interested in career and technical education are invited to attend.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see many of the secondary and adult education program areas, participate in hands-on demonstrations in the various program areas, meet the instructors and speak with current CPI students about their experiences.
