Beginning Tuesday, a contractor will begin to place high-friction surface treatment on three-quarters of a mile of 17th Street in Altoona.
The project will limit traffic on 17th Street in both directions between I-99 and Grant Avenue.
The work will take place mostly between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays.
Delays of up to 15 minutes are possible.
Work on the $1.3 million project is expected to be completed by late September. Work is being completed by Mekis Construction Co. of Fenelton. All work is weather dependent.
