Three Amish killed in farming accident
Three members of an Amish family died in a farming accident Wednesday morning.
Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers said Andrew Beiler, 47, and his two sons ages 14 and 19 died from asphyxiation after they were trapped inside a silo. The buildup in gases inside the silo caused their deaths, which have been ruled accidental.
Emergency responders were dispatched about 8:30 a.m. to the farm at 2926 Lower Brush Valley Road in Potter Township.
Neighbors said the three deaths were due to a ripple effect, with one going in to help the next, according to WTAJ reports.
State police out of Rockview are investigating the incident.
