Chipotle evacuated due to gas leak

Chipotle on Osgood Drive was evacuated Wednesday evening after an employee reported smelling gas.

The call came in to emergency services at about 3:45 p.m., Lakemont Volunteer Fire Department Captain Ian Yon said.

Peoples Natural Gas joined the fire department on scene.

“An employee reported smelling something so we called just to get someone to come out,” Chipotle worker Emily Songer said.

A small gas leak was found and taken care of, according to Yon.

Customers and employees were able to reenter the building by about 4:20 p.m. No other buildings in the area were evacuated.
