Eltman faces dozens of charges in alleged assault of minor girl

A Saxton man is facing nearly 40 charges for the alleged sexual assault of a minor, state police reported.
John William Eltman II, 54, is accused of assaulting the girl on several occasions since 2020.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Bedford County Children & Youth Services notified state police in August 2021 about the suspected child abuse after the then 15-year-old came forward and said Eltman had sexual intercourse with her beginning when she was 13 years old.
During an interview at the Cambria County Child Advocacy Center, the victim reported that Eltman began having sex with her in March 2020 when they had fallen asleep together on a couch at a Liberty Township residence.
The victim detailed five additional incidents, including one at a South Woodbury Township residence in March 2021, where she said Eltman gave her $100 so she wouldn't tell anyone.
According to the court docket, Eltman faces four felony counts of rape by forcible compulsion, four felony counts of statutory sexual assault with defendant at least 11 years older, six sexually related felony counts involving a minor six felony counts of corruption of minors-defendant age 18 or above, six felony counts of endangering the welfare of children, two felony counts of sexual assault, two felony counts of aggravated indecent assault-complainant less than 16, one felony count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a person less than 16 years of age and six misdemeanor counts of indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age.
Eltman was arraigned Thursday afternoon by Magisterial District Judge Kathy S. Calhoun. Unable to post $100,000 bail, he was remanded to the Bedford County Correctional Facility.
His preliminary hearing is set for June 22 in front of Calhoun in Blair County Central Court.
