Lights-out

J.R. Peace of I & Y Construction, New Enterprise, cuts a light pole at Mansion Park Stadium on Monday morning. Mansion Park track is closed to the public through July 31 as new lighting and grandstand projects are completed, said Paula Foreman, Altoona Area School District’s community relations director. The tennis courts will remain open, but Foreman said people should use caution as some equipment may be staged near the areas. If work at the park is completed before the end of July, the track will be opened earlier, Foreman said, noting an announcement will be made at that time. Mirror photo by Patrick Waksmunski
