Galleria mall up for sale

An online auction for the Johnstown Galleria will be held Aug. 8 to 11 with a starting bid of $1.4 million.

The Johnstown Galleria was built by Zamias Services Inc. and opened on

Oct. 22, 1992, with anchors Bon-Ton, Boscov’s, J.C. Penney and Sears. The Boscov’s, former Bon-Ton and former Sears buildings are independently owned. Zamias sold the mall to Gemini Real Estate Advisors for $57 million in 2008, but remained as management.

The offering consists of 358,373 square feet of space that includes J.C. Penney and all of the interior mall shop space and common areas. The property includes approximately 76 acres, with 45 usable acres.

Boscov’s has begun an extensive remodeling, while J.C. Penney recently exercised an option for another five years.

JSSB aiding area food banks

WILLIAMSPORT — Jersey Shore Bank is taking steps to help area food banks.

JSSB pledged that with every loan closed in December, January and February it would donate $25 to a local food bank. That promise led to a total of $24,000 being donated to 22 different agencies located from Williamsport to Altoona.

Local agencies receiving donations include: St. Vincent de Paul Assumption Chapel Food Pantry, The Salvation Army-Altoona, American Rescue Workers, Altoona Food Bank, First Baptist Church of Altoona and the State College Food Bank.
