Bishop tests positive for COVID
Bartchak felt ill while traveling back to diocese
Bishop Mark L. Bartchak is quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19, according to a news release from Tony DeGol, spokesman for the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown.
The Bishop began noticing symptoms on Saturday while traveling back to the diocese after a business trip. DeGol said the bishop is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms and has been in contact with his physician.
Bartchak, 67, is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and has received two booster shots, according to the release.
The faithful are asked to remember Bartchak in prayer, as well as others battling COVID-19 and all who have been affected by the pandemic, the release stated.
