Police look into West Loop death

No threat to public PSP spokesman said; ‘There’s a lot of moving parts’

State police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old woman at a house on West Loop Road in Frankstown Township, according to officials.

Around noon, a dispatcher notified authorities that state police were looking for two "persons of interest" in connection with a "homicide" Wednesday in Frankstown Township, and then named those persons, in a call heard on the scanner.

State police Capt. Christopher Storm, who was outside the residence on the 2300 block of West Loop Road in the afternoon, insisted on classifying the police inquiry as a "death investigation," rather than a homicide investigation, and insisted on calling the persons whose names were heard on the scanner as "people we want to talk to," rather than persons of interest.

"There's not enough to rule either way," Storm said.

There is no threat to the public, said Storm and regional state police spokesman, Trooper Christopher Fox.

The call alerting authorities to the death came at 10:30 a.m., Storm said.

Both state police and the Blair County Coroner's Office responded, Storm said.

One of several vehicles parked at the house, which is next to farm fields where beef cattle were grazing, was labeled "Forensic Services Unit."

Police weren't naming the deceased woman, pending notification of family members, Storm said.

"There's a lot of moving parts," Fox said.

Two attempts to reach the coroner were unsuccessful.
