A Tyrone man is accused of leading police on a chase while under the influence.
Tanner Thomas Taylor, 23, was operating a gray Nissan Altima on Adams Avenue in Tyrone on April 30 when officers attempted a traffic stop, police reported.
Taylor continued to speed away as officers pursued the vehicle, according to a report. Taylor eventually hit a tree on the 600 block of Gypsy Camp Hollow, exited the vehicle and ran into the nearby woods where officers were able to arrest him, WTAJ reported.
He allegedly told police that he didn't pull over because he had warrants out for his arrest and that the vehicle he was driving did not belong to him. He also told police he was under the influence of drugs and had an "8-ball" of crack cocaine in the car, according to reports.
Taylor was transported to UPMC Altoona for treatment of injuries related to the accident.
He faces charges of fleeing an officer, DUI and multiple traffic violations.
Unable to post $75,000 bail, he was remanded to the Blair County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 10.
