A monthly feature on an area student
Brooke Bagwell
Age and school: 16, Bellefonte Area High School
Family: Father, Roger Bagwell; mother, Maureen Mulvihill; brother, Cedric Bagwell
FFA chapter: Bellefonte
Years involved with FFA: 3 years
Amount of time spent on FFA: I have to take care of my two rabbits daily and I also volunteer for different FFA related events
FFA projects: Rabbits
Favorite FFA memory: My favorite memory is the Homecoming parade floats. They are always fun and we usually have animals on the float. It is always a blast to throw candy and hear kids say “There’s a bunny on that float!”
FFA accomplishments: Getting many different community service hours for volunteering.
How has FFA prepared you for your future aspirations: FFA has helped me realize how much I love animals and how important agriculture is. I have thought about doing something involving animals in the future, and FFA has influenced that.
Special thanks: I would like to give special thanks to Mrs. (Myken) Poorman for always being a great role model. She is constantly trying to find fun things to do for FFA and it’s amazing. Mrs. Poorman puts a lot of effort into the chapter and she deserves the credit. I appreciate her and the support she is constantly giving me and everyone else in the chapter.
Quote: “FFA isn’t just about farming, it is about the different adventures, experiences, and friendships it brings you.”
