Duplicate ballots mailed out
The Bedford County Elections Office is asking Bedford County residents to check their mail-in or absentee ballots as the office reported nearly 60 voters have received duplicates.
The office is reaching out to voters who were impacted by the error. Those who received an extra ballot should call the elections office at 814-623-4807.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Tuesday, May 10, for the May 17 primary election.

Elections software contract signed
Blair County will pay $31,490 to Elections Systems and Software LLC this year for assistance with conducting the primary and the general elections.
ES&S is the company that provided the county's current voting equipment. Based on the contract commissioners approved Thursday, ES&S will handle the coding associated with programming the election equipment and for each election, provide six days of on-site staff support for a total of 12 days.
