Planners OK dollar store

CLAYSBURG -- Blair County Planning Commission members Thursday gave a favorable review for a project to convert the former C&S Family Markets building in Claysburg into a Family Dollar store.

The plan calls for a 2,500-square-foot addition. Additional improvements will include reconfiguring the existing parking lot and removal of an existing access driveway, said Jamie L. Klink, regional planner.

Access will be through a bidirectional driveway connection to Dunnings Highway. Proposed parking will consist of 49 spaces, including two Americans with Disabilities Act accessible spaces.

The conversion of the existing C&S Family Markets building to a new Family Dollar store has the possibility of generating additional peak hour traffic, Klink said, advising consultations with PennDOT and Greenfield Township.

Starting at /week.
