Local election staffers may see pay increase
HOLLIDAYSBURG — The Blair County Elections Board will consider new pay rates on Monday for those who staff the voting precincts.
The elections board, composed of Amy Webster, chairwoman, and fellow commissioners Bruce Erb and Laura Burke, will convene at 10:45 a.m. at the elections office inside the highway building, 279 Loop Road.
The meeting agenda, posted on the county’s website, shows a proposed pay rate of $150 for a precinct’s judge of elections. The job currently pays $95 to $115, depending on precinct size.
The agenda also shows a proposed rate of pay at $125 for precinct staff members designated as inspectors and clerks. Their pay currently ranges between $85 and $110.
Monday’s meeting is open to the public.
